April 2012
On Saturday April 14, St. Paul’s had a full plate of events going on. There were two concerts with the theme of Love Songs from the Heart and there was also a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the Charles Family Defense Fund. Many people took part in both events and a grand time was had. For more news on the successful fundraiser, visit the Facebook page for Lucene.

In addition to buying their meal, the crowd made generous donations making the night a huge fundraising success.

On March 31st the Red Door Cafe was an extra special night with a 100 Mile Dinner from
6 to 8:00pm and the inclusion of Earth Hour from 8:30 to 9:30 while poetry was read, music was played and songs were sung. The food was fabulous and there was great team work between St. Paul’s, Open Circles and many McMaster students to put on a very enjoyable evening. For more information about the monthly Red Door Cafe, visit the Open Circles website.
February 2012
Many people from St. Paul’s were at the Rally for the Charles Family on February 17 in downtown Hamilton. The hundreds gathered were ecstatic to hear that Lucene and her daughter were given a six month delay on their deportation order to allow time for more review of their case.
January 2012
HOOT MON!! The 4th Annual Burn’s Supper deemed a rousing success! An evening of fun, food, and frolic was enjoyed on January 21st by those gathering to be “Scots for a Night” – as well as those born to the tartan! As fund raising events go, this was a great one and the proceeds will be put towards church projects. A hearty thanks goes out to all who helped in the kitchen – especially Elsa Maitland, Wayne Balsdon, “Michael–the-dishwasher”, Sharon Molnar and Janet O’Riley. Thanks also to the bartenders, Jennifer Harper and Phil Jones.
December 2011
On December 11, Bishop Michael Bird visited each Sunday service and joined us for a potluck lunch in the main hall. Thank you to everyone for the delicious food and the many hands that helped to set up and clean up this event. There was a good turn out and lots of friendly conversations.
November 2011
On November 26, we hosted the Maker’s Market, a group of artisans selling hand-made wares. For Christmas shoppers, there was a great selection of jewelry, clothing, soap, paintings and more. Our own bakers extraordinaire, Jean and Emily, provided beautiful (and delicious) cookies and cupcakes.
October 2011
On October 16 St. Paul’s went to the dogs and one cat for the occasion of Blessing the Pets. The four-legged visitors were well-behaved and entertaining.
September 2011
September 11 was a very busy day at St. Paul’s with the theme of Volunteer Ministry Appreciation. We had a volunteer display after the service, a barbeque at the church followed by a garden party at David’s house. The food was great and the company superb.
June 2011
On June 26 we celebrated St. Paul’s Day with a casual service, barbeque, children’s concert and games. There was great weather food and company. Many thanks to everyone who pitched in and made the event so enjoyable.
